Hi, Malty friends! Here at HQ, we're always looking for little ways to treat our girlfriends—our busy mom friends, our teacher pals, and each other! One of our favorite ways to do that is to make this DIY coconut sugar scrub (just the name sounds glorious, right?).
So many of our friends who we've made this sugar scrub for have asked for the recipe, so we had to share it with you! It's super simple, and takes less than 5 minutes to make. Use it on your face for a super gentle exfoliation, or as a body scrub in the shower. Once you start using it regularly, it'll become your new favorite self-care routine—
Malty Blue Coconut Sugar Scrub
1/2 cup coconut oil, in its liquid state
2 cups sugar (we used organic cane sugar)
3-5 drops of all-natural food coloring
5-10 drops essential oil
1. Pour sugar into coconut water, stirring until desired texture.
For a chunkier scrub, add a little more sugar!
2. Add food coloring, stirring until color is mixed throughout. (Don't worry, this tiny amount won't stain your skin—but you can test it out on your wrist if you're nervous!).
3. Stir in essential oil. For this blue body scrub, we used rosemary essential oil, but you can use your favorite scent! We also like making a green scrub with peppermint essential oil and a yellow scrub with lemongrass essential oil.
